FOREST SIGNS

Each of the over 100 forests in the National Arboretum are to contain one of these large glass signs with species specific botanical and interpretive information.

These signs needed to be large and visually appealing so that they are easily visible on the 250 hectare site, maintaining their spatial integrity as the forest grows in stature.

In order to do this without being overbearing and dominating in the landscape — especially while the trees are juvenile — glass with graphics was chosen as the predominant material.

The large glass sheet, whilst still being legible, allows the eye to pass through, belying its true size.
