NATIONAL ARBORETUM CANBERRA

The National Arboretum Canberra is a 250 hectare site at the western end of Lake Burley Griffin. A former pine forest that was destroyed by bushfires in 2003, the site is being transformed into a mosaic of forest trees that are rare and endangered or have ethno-botanical or symbolic values.

Outlining the project progress to date, site infrastructure, forest plantings and the next stages of work, this detailed catalogue details the significance of the project for future generations and its potential to become a major iconic tourist destination.
