David Lancashire Design has welcomed students as part of the AGIdeas Studio Access night for the past 20 years.

On 23 May we once again look forward to opening our door to students, to share our work, knowledge and experience, answer questions, and have a drink or two.

Before pixels and the ‘mouse & click’ there was the drawing board, T-square and set-square.

The Australia Project is a series of creative initiatives dedicated to exploring the national Australian identity. Prominent Australian artists were hand-selected and invited to creatively interpret the Australia Project Brief.

A group of designers were asked to design a poster for the Icograda World Design Congress 2009 in Beijing, responding to the Icograda Design Week Brisbane theme of ‘Optimism’. 

The National Portrait Gallery exhibition Portraits + Architecture explores the relationship between creative thinking and identity. 

Presenting the work of seven leading Australian architect teams with commissioned photographic portraits by seven Australian photographers, the exhibition explores the thinking that informs creative architecture practice rather than the details of specific buildings or architectural projects.

In 2008 Cafe Di Stasio, as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations, held an architectural ideas competition for the design of a new Australian Pavilion in the Giardini of the Venice Biennale. 

The submission by Troppo Architects and David Lancashire Design was selected from hundreds to be shortlisted amongst 36 other entries from around the world.

Created by 3 Deep Design, Everything In Between is an intensive 13 week program for designers wanting to challenge and extend their thinking, experiences and process.

The program incorporated a series of workshops, talks and collaborations between students and national and international creative thinkers. 

David recently stepped down from a two-year position on the Board of Icograda (the International Council of Graphic Design Associations) to work on a range of projects of cultural value (INDIGO).

In 2008 Ahn Sang-So invited David to be part of a student workshop in Seol, Korea.
