Spirit in the Land is a NETS Victoria and McClelland Gallery+Sculpture Park touring exhibition.
Over 40 works have been drawn from private, state and public gallery collections throughout Australia, bringing together key paintings and sculptures by some of Australia’s most influential artists.
The featured artists are: Lorraine Connelly-Northey, John Davis, Russell Drysdale, Roaslie Gascoigne, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Dorothy Napangardi, Sidney Nolan, John Olsen, Lin Onus, Rover Thomas and Fred Williams.
Spirit in the Land explores the connection between these eleven artists, historical and contemporary, indigenous and non-indigenous, and their connection to and appreciation of the landscape.
The 70pp full colour catalogue features all of the works within the exhibition, along with artist biographies and details of shared themes and cultural exchanges in the works.
